JFS has a significant specialised presence in both the Nuclear and Aerospace Industries, developed through the combination of design and the supply of distributed products and services. The company is committed to growing within these two industrial sectors. This is being achieved through a combination of organic growth (which includes investment in the facilities and staff at its nuclear and aerospace sites) and acquisition of similarly focused businesses.
Faber capabilities are complementary to those within JFS thereby enhancing their skills base, broadening the overall services portfolio, strengthening relationships with existing customers and adding new customers. The addition of Faber's skilled resource of over 100 engineers and its International supply chain, will allow JFS to continue to meet the challenges set within these most demanding industrial sectors. JFS offers a long term commitment to its customers and this offering is passed onto Faber's clients as part of this acquisition. JFS offers access to new markets for Faber e.g. Marine, Offshore, and the combined business development teams enhance their market presence and coverage. Together the group can more effectively support a number of new markets where previously critical mass had been a challenge.
Faber, to be known as JF Faber, will form an integral part of James Fisher Nuclear Holdings alongside its sister companies JFN and JFIMS and under Dr Paul Read, the Managing Director for these companies.
Ian Eaves, Business Development Director of Faber said “The JFS acquisition presents our staff, customers and suppliers with the reassurance to develop our existing markets and the backing to grow into new areas”.
Dr Paul Read said: “Faber has demonstrated over the years a high level of performance within the Nuclear and Aerospace industry, we are looking forward to adding our support and to building on these achievements”
Tim Harris, Chairman of James Fisher and Sons plc, said: “Faber will strengthen our nuclear decommissioning and specialist engineering businesses which havebeen performing strongly in recent times”.
