Senior Stress Engineer

JF Faber are a leading provider of Stress Analysis Consultancy primarily to the Nuclear and Aerospace sectors. We are currently looking to expand our team so have an immediate requirement for a Senior stress engineer.

Suitable candidates should have experience of performing static and dynamic stress analysis using classical and finite element methods. Experience of using the following would be preferred:

ANSYS
FEMAP / NASTRAN
MATHCAD
CATIA

The candidate shall be able to demonstrate at least 5 years experience and in the preparation of stress reports for tooling and structures in the Aerospace or Nuclear sectors. This is a hands-on role, which will require the following skills:

Working with our design team to find solutions to stress related issues, often within limited timescales.
Liaison with the Design, Manufacturing and Project Departments to identify ways of reducing Manufacturing/ Design Costs without affecting Quality.
Supporting the preparation of Aerospace and Nuclear bids.

Experience in the design and manufacture of composite components would be an advantage as would the design of mechanical systems and experience of working to BS2573.

This permanent role will require attendance at design review/progress meetings with our customers therefore effective communication skills are essential.
